In the months of Oct./Nov. 1944, the 3rd PzGrenDivision / V. Panzerarmee deployed in the Aachen - Würselen - Eschweiler - Jülich area suffered heavy losses. Panzerarmee suffered heavy losses. Their fallen were buried in the forest cemetery in Bedburg. The war cemetery was dedicated on National Day of Mourning, November 10, 1957. Due to lignite mining, a new site was created for the entire forest cemetery. In addition, six soldiers from Bedburg and 30 soldiers from various nations who died in captivity have their final resting place here. This war cemetery is home to 274 German war dead from the Second World War.
