Bassum - Nordwohlde, OT Fesenfeld, Soldatengrab an der B 51

A total of 23 German soldiers rest in this common grave approx. 40 m to the left of the Bundesstraße 51 in Fesenfeld in the direction of Bremen. - 21 of them were killed by an artillery attack on April 10, 1945 when their truck was hit. One of the soldiers could not be identified. - 2 others succumbed to their injuries on the same day in Gräfinghausen, about two kilometers away. They were buried in 1952. The well-maintained war cemetery is signposted from the B51 and can also be easily reached by car via a dirt track. Photos: C.Tözen 2021
