According to the information available to us, a total of 9 dead from both world wars rest in a small, well-kept cemetery. In detail: - 3 soldiers of the Imperial Navy, killed in action in 1914 and 1917 - 6 soldiers of the Kriegsmarine, almost all of whom are recorded as having died on 9.9.1945. The "Chronicle Baltrum 1398 - 2011" on page 18 provides information about the circumstances of their deaths, stating that 5 German soldiers who were prisoners of war were killed by the explosion of a mine while clearing mines at the beginning of September 1945.
