Total Occupation: 79 fatalities
According to the information available to us, a total of 83 war dead rest in 3 cemeteries at this cemetery. In detail: - 38 soldiers of the First World War who died in the Alfeld military hospital or were transferred from war zones, - 28 soldiers who died in the spring of 1945 during the final battles in the Alfeld area or were transferred here after the end of the war, - 17 prisoners of war and forced laborers, mostly Polish and Soviet citizens, who died of illness, exhaustion and overwork due to the poor living and working conditions. The well-kept burial plots are located in the front right-hand section of the cemetery. If you take the first entrance to the cemetery on Hildesheimer Str., the WW1 & WW2 cemeteries are immediately to the left and right behind the entrance. If you follow the path to the traffic circle and then keep half-left, you will reach the cemetery of forced laborers and prisoners of war after about 60 m, marked by a plaque.
