Prisoner of War Cemetery 1939/45 The district town of Valga is located in southern Estonia, directly on the Latvian border. Between January 1945 and November 1947, around 244 mainly German prisoners were buried in the prisoner of war cemetery. The cemetery was completed in 1998. The names and dates of the German and Hungarian war dead buried here are inscribed on plaques in the central square. The cemetery is maintained by Mr. Jaak Tiints.
