According to the documents available to us, a total of 27 dead from both world wars and the National Socialist tyranny rest in this cemetery.
In detail:
8 German soldiers of the First World War, most of whom died in the Ebstorf military hospital in 1918/19, - 8 German soldiers of the Second World War, killed during the final battles in April 1945 or died shortly afterwards in the Ebstorf reserve hospital - 1 child of a Dutch forced laborer, died in March 1945 - 2 Soviet prisoners of war, died in 1941/42 - 1 Dutch woman, died at the end of April 1945 and - 4 unknown dead In three other graves in the cemetery area, 3 German refugee children, all died on 13 May 1945 in Altenebstorf. However, only the 16 German soldiers from both world wars are listed by name on the communal name plaque. The two Soviet prisoners of war as well as the Dutch woman and the Dutch child are not listed by name, although the list of graves contains their names and dates of death. Only a stone with the inscription: "Here rest eight war dead 1941-1945" commemorates them and the 4 unknown persons. last updated 12.12.2016/Christian Christoph Photos: Volker Fleig 2013
