History information The brewery cellar was used as a changing station and the cemetery was started in November 1914 in the nearby orchard. It was protected from enemy observation by destroyed houses and continued to be used until January 1918. Brewery Orchard Cemetery contains 339 Commonwealth burials from the First World War. There are also four burials from the Second World War and five German war graves. The cemetery was designed by Sir Herbert Baker.
