Total Occupation: 6 fatalities
Total Occupation: 6 fatalities
According to the documents available to us, a total of 6 dead from both world wars and the National Socialist tyranny are said to rest in this cemetery: - 1 Russian prisoner of war from the First World War who died in 1918 - 2 forced laborers from the former Soviet Union and at least 1 to 3 children of forced laborers, all of whom died in 1944 and 1945.
During a visit to the cemetery in February 2014, the grave of the Russian prisoner of war could not be found. 2 graves of forced labourers in the far left corner of the cemetery next to the garbage and compost heap of the cemetery and another grave slightly above it could only be found after information from 2 visitors to the cemetery who were familiar with the area. All the graves are extremely neglected and unkempt. The grave crosses of the two forced laborers' graves are smashed, the single grave above also has no markings and was named by the cemetery visitor as the gravesite of 3 forced laborers' children. A total of 4 dead are listed by name in the list of graves. Overall, the condition of these graves is undignified and needs to be changed soon. photos: Volker Fleig 2014
