The cemetery, which was designed by the French, is located to the side of the main road 27 and contains the remains of Russians, Poles, Danes, Dutch, Belgians and French who perished in the concentration camp there. In the middle of the grounds stands a mighty stone altar with a high cross protruding from it. In front of and to the side of the altar are bronze plaques dedicated to the memory of these dead. Two crosses, hewn from a single block, are scattered around the gravesite.
