Total Occupation: 11 fatalities
According to the information available to us, a total of 11 dead from the First World War and the National Socialist tyranny rest in two small graves in this cemetery: - 3 Russian prisoners of war from the First World War, who died in October 1918; - on the northern edge of the cemetery - behind a detached house - 8 of originally 12 Jewish concentration camp prisoners from the Bergen-Belsen star camp, who left Bergen on April 10, 1945 on the last so-called "Evacuation Transport - Lost Train". They died of hunger and exhaustion during the long journey in the overcrowded goods wagons, including an infant who was born during the journey. The dead were unloaded at a stop in Wichmannsburg on April 13, 1945 and buried in the cemetery there. 3 of the dead were later exhumed and transferred to Holland. The whereabouts of the infant are unknown.
