The Frohnau cemetery, which covers around 4 hectares and is owned by the state, was laid out in 1910-1911 by garden architect Ludwig Lesser in the style of a forest and park cemetery in the Lesser Heath. The cemetery chapel, designed by Carl Stahl-Urach, was opened in 1912; it combines elements of Nordic stave churches with Baroque style elements and local traditional architecture. There is an honorary grave of the state of Berlin in the cemetery: - Oskar Loerke (1884-1941), expressionist poet and writer Several hundred victims of the First and especially the Second World War are buried in the Frohnau cemetery behind the chapel.
