In the months of Oct./Nov. 1944, the 3rd PzGrenDivision / V. Panzerarmee deployed in the Aachen - Würselen - Eschweiler - Jülich area suffered heavy losses. Panzerarmee suffered heavy losses. Their fallen were buried in the forest cemetery in Bedburg. The war cemetery was inaugurated on National Day of Mourning, 10.11.1957. Due to the mining of brown coal, a new site was created for the entire forest cemetery. In addition, six soldiers from Bedburg and 30 soldiers from various nations who died in captivity have their final resting place here. 274 German war dead of the Second World War rest on this war cemetery.
