According to the information available to us, 194 war dead of the Second World War are buried in two cemeteries in the Bad Münder municipal cemetery. 87 German soldiers who died in military hospitals in Bad Münder or who fell during the final battles at the beginning of April 1945 are buried in the rear part of the cemetery. 107 Eastern European prisoners of war and forced labourers are buried in the front right-hand part. Most of them died as so-called "displaced persons" between 1945 and 1950 in the hospitals and sanatoriums of Bad Münder. Photos: Volker Fleig 2011
