This tomb has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since September 2023.
Aubérive, Département Marne
2,237 fallen German soldiers rest here in individual graves. 3.124 other fallen soldiers, 218 of whom are known by name, found their final resting place and place of honor in the comrades' grave.
The cemetery was established by the French military authorities and taken into care by the Volksbund in November 1928.
in 1972, the Volksbund replaced the old wooden crosses with stone grave markers and landscaped the grounds.
